A few weekends ago I waved goodbye to Joseph and made a quick trip home.
It was the...
100th Homecoming Celebration of Lincoln County High School.
I'm mean come on, how could I miss that?
I made it in perfect time to watch the little sis spike some volleyballs and crush White Pine.

Then Zach and I made our way to the football field to cheer on the team and have a few good laughs with Max. What an exciting game.

I can't even explain the massive amount of people that were there. I don't think Panaca's ever seen this many people at one time in it's entire history.
Then we watched the little sis get flowers and parade on the field during half-time.

Junior Class Royalty.
After the game there were fireworks. Yes, that's right. Panaca had fireworks. Booya.
The next day Mom and I traveled to Cedar to watch this stud play with the pig skin.

Then hurried back home so we could get a good seat for the Alumni dinner and program.
During the program they talked about each era and the highlights during that time. It was so cool to hear the stories of the beginning day of old LCHS. Like the outdoor basketball court, building the L on the hill, and the old school.
The story that cracked me up the most was about the student drivers. They said that back in the day they had what they called student drivers. It's exactly what it sounds like. They had 16 year old students driving the
buses! They said for games they would just pile on the bus and their friend would drive them to Vegas or wherever they were going. There was nothing out of the ordinary about it and it was a great job for students. Can you imagine if we did that today?
Then they had some performances from the different time frames. This is when I got to watch
her.....
Shake her Groove Thing.(She's probably going to kill me.)I hurried home afterward to help the little sis get ready for the big dance. Then my parents and I joined in to watch the crowning of Royalty and snuck in some time to get our groove on. :)
(Can you imagine my Dad getting his groove on? Yeah exactly, he didn't leave the wall the entire time.)

(Check out Mama's "Farrah Fawcett Do" left over from her dance)
I know I say this a lot, but this was one of the best weekends ever. J-man really missed out (he thought BYU was a little higher on the priority list). I loved my high school and my community growing up. There is so much history and so many incredible stories that come from Lincoln County. I'm so glad that I went and was able to experience that. The old buildings are now gone and the new ones are sprouting, but the spirit still lives on. Happy birthday LCHS!
