Milestone

Joseph and I hit a milestone last week. We attended our first "chick-flick" together. Yep, that's right. You heard it. OUR FIRST! We have never sat through a movie together that could be considered a "chick-flick". As I'm sure most of you know, Joseph is very set on things he likes and dislikes. There is no budging.
He will not do girl movies.

We attended with our friends Phillip and Robin. I'm still not sure why he decided to ease up a little. Maybe because Joseph felt bad for Phillip (he was having to go no matter what). Or maybe he finally realized that I would like to see one once in awhile. Despite the reasoning, we had a great time! Joseph didn't complain once and I was loving it.

Thanks for the date night babe....we'll have to do it more often!

happy.

Happy because....
  • The weather is B-E-A-utiful
  • We had Cafe Rio for dinner last night - Doesn't happen often (Not one of J's favs)
  • Dinner was free!! - thanks to J stumping his professor
  • We won our volleyball game
  • It's Friday! - "Friday, Friday, Friday is my favorite day." (That little tune was for you mama)
  • Driving to P-town in a couple hours with Giulia and Shelby
  • Will be watching Mama "shake her thang" tonight
  • I didn't get pulled over for driving in the car pool lane. (He clearly saw that there was no car-pooling going on) - Oops! Habit I guess :)
  • I'll be seeing all kinds of family this weekend - Robbins and Forsyths!
Oh Happy Day!

In case you didn't know...

Joseph called me the other day at work....

J: "Did you know it's only 30 days away from the Quarter Century Celebration!?"
F: "What celebration?"
It took me a few, but I clicked in that he was talking about his big 25th.

So just so you know....
Only 27 more days till
Joseph's Quarter Century Celebration!

It's here....

The fluffy white stuff is making it's first appearance today.
Happy or Sad?
I'm not so sure. The first snow is always beautiful. It brings magic and excitement for the holidays. But then that vision gets tainted when I remember how much more of this stuff I'll be seeing. I still want the vibrant colors and the crisp leaves. I want to wear sweaters and long sleeve shirts. Not parkas, gloves, and scarves.
Oh well....I guess I'll just try to enjoy it beauty of it now. Maybe I'll go home and start a fire (in our new fireplace that is) and sip on some choffy while the hubby is spending the evening at school.
Yes...that sounds nice.

A little reunion...

Cameron and Julia were in town a couple of weeks ago so we had to have everyone over for dinner. A few games of Catch Phrase and a long grueling game of Scum made for a late night to bed, but it was well worth it!
It was so fun to have everyone together again. I wish we could do it more often.
We missed you Adam and Kilee :)

LCHS

A few weekends ago I waved goodbye to Joseph and made a quick trip home.
It was the...
100th Homecoming Celebration of Lincoln County High School.
I'm mean come on, how could I miss that?

I made it in perfect time to watch the little sis spike some volleyballs and crush White Pine.

Then Zach and I made our way to the football field to cheer on the team and have a few good laughs with Max. What an exciting game.

I can't even explain the massive amount of people that were there. I don't think Panaca's ever seen this many people at one time in it's entire history.
Then we watched the little sis get flowers and parade on the field during half-time.

Junior Class Royalty.

After the game there were fireworks. Yes, that's right. Panaca had fireworks. Booya.

The next day Mom and I traveled to Cedar to watch this stud play with the pig skin.

Then hurried back home so we could get a good seat for the Alumni dinner and program.

During the program they talked about each era and the highlights during that time. It was so cool to hear the stories of the beginning day of old LCHS. Like the outdoor basketball court, building the L on the hill, and the old school.
The story that cracked me up the most was about the student drivers. They said that back in the day they had what they called student drivers. It's exactly what it sounds like. They had 16 year old students driving the buses! They said for games they would just pile on the bus and their friend would drive them to Vegas or wherever they were going. There was nothing out of the ordinary about it and it was a great job for students. Can you imagine if we did that today?
Then they had some performances from the different time frames. This is when I got to watch her.....

Shake her Groove Thing.
(She's probably going to kill me.)

I hurried home afterward to help the little sis get ready for the big dance. Then my parents and I joined in to watch the crowning of Royalty and snuck in some time to get our groove on. :) (Can you imagine my Dad getting his groove on? Yeah exactly, he didn't leave the wall the entire time.)

(Check out Mama's "Farrah Fawcett Do" left over from her dance)

I know I say this a lot, but this was one of the best weekends ever. J-man really missed out (he thought BYU was a little higher on the priority list). I loved my high school and my community growing up. There is so much history and so many incredible stories that come from Lincoln County. I'm so glad that I went and was able to experience that. The old buildings are now gone and the new ones are sprouting, but the spirit still lives on. Happy birthday LCHS!

BYU

A couple weekends ago Joseph's parents came to stay with us and attend the first BYU home game of the season. Somehow we lucked out and got incredible tickets. 3rd row and right behind the team for the whole season. As I'm sure you can all imagine, J was like a little kid at Christmas when we got there.

We really don't need to repeat the outcome of that game, but we made it through and actually had a great weekend. :)

Other than that our weekend was so fun! We really loved having you Randy and Terry...please come again soon!
