So it's obvious that the blog doesn't get much attention lately. Which is really too bad. I know it's a great way to keep in touch with my family back home and update them on our happenings. Plus I use it as our little family journal.
So......I'm going to attempt a once a month update.
(This month I will do two: One for July and one for August.)
Here goes nothing!
July in our little corner of the world.....
July came and went in the blink of an eye. We were lucky enough to have Joseph off work to study for the bar for the entire month! So his first week off, we took advantage and ran off to visit Maine, Vermont, and New Hampshire. It was so much fun. We visited the Joseph Smith birth place, hit up a beach in Maine, had some tasty seafood, and took in the sights of a beautiful maple farm in Vermont. What a beautiful part of the country that is.

We've had lots of Zoo trips lately and Amelia is mesmerized by the kids who get their faces painted there. She begged me one day while we were there and after seeing the price I told her no. Then, little smarty pants, thinking her mom is super woman just said so confidently. "Ok, maybe when we go home you can just paint my face like those kids."
So that is what this Mama did. I was thinking a simple butterfly around her eye or something, but she wanted to go all out. (Please don't judge. It's clear that face painting is not
one of my better talents.) The sheer delight when she looked in the mirror made it all worth it. She was on all fours for most of the day.

We honestly tried to just get outside as much as we could in July. It rained a lot, so any chance we got we were out doing something.
This is proof that Daddy didn't just play with us all month. He did have to study.
Or sidewalk painting?

Or an Amish husband?
Yes...don't ask. He keeps me laughing everyday! This almost caused me to have an accident.
He was so in character. He claims the Amish code prevents him from looking into the camera. Ha!
That about wraps up our July!
